Workers who need to exercise judgement to sling loads or who direct crane movement from outside the crane operator’s full view (such as with whistle signals or radio)

Dogging consists of two main aspects:

The slinging techniques used for moving a load (including the selection and inspection of lifting equipment).
The directing of a hoist or crane operator who is moving a load, when the load is out of the operator’s view.

Simply put, someone who engages in dogging is called a Dogger.

Course Description:

This course focuses on the skills required to erect, alter, and dismantle scaffolding structures at the Intermediate level. It covers the use and operation of various advanced scaffolding techniques, including Cantilevered crane-loading platforms, Cantilevered and spurred scaffolds, Barrow ramps and sloping platforms, perimeter safety screens and shutters, Mast climbers, and tube and coupler scaffolds (including tube and coupler covered ways and gantries). Completion of this course meets licensing requirements.

Competence in Bends & Hitched Techniques: Safely securing scaffold components using bends and hitched methods.
Knowledge of Industrial Safety Nets: Understanding the installation and function of safety nets in industrial settings.
Mastery of Cantilevered Platform Hoists: Operating materials hoists for cantilevered platforms safely.
Proficiency in Inspection & Equipment Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections and performing maintenance on scaffolding equipment to ensure safety and functionality.

Outcome:

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive:

A nationally recognized Statement of Attainment in CPCCLSF3001 – Licence to erect, alter, and dismantle scaffolding at the intermediate level.
A High-Risk Work Licence (class SI) issued through the relevant Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) authority in your jurisdiction, such as SafeWork or WorkSafe.
